The sorghum malting operation at Aspindale in Harare has recorded an increase in throughput driven by the upsurge in the sorghum beer volumes over the years.
The barley malting operation in Kwe-Kwe has recorded an increase in throughput driven by the upsurge in the lager beer volumes over the years. Research and development work on both barley and sorghum varieties is continuing, which is expected to result in improvement agronomic and brewing performance. The Sierra variety has performed well alongside Hope, hence its share output will be scaled up in the coming years. Some two barley varieties are currently undergoing purity tests.
