The volume performance of the alternative beverages under Shumba Maheu and SuperSip brands, recorded a 16% decline to 160 thousand hectolitres. This was partly due to increased competition from both local and imported brands and the price distortions arising from the changes in the value added tax regime. The company continues to review the product offering with marketing initiatives focused on raising awareness of importance of the category as a meal replacement.[/imagebox]
